KTBS – A company blamed for some of the delays veterans face in getting appointments with specialists collected nearly $39 million in overpayments. TriWest Healthcare Alliance is one of two companies with contracts to handle private doctor appointments and billing for the Veterans Choice program. Now the VA Office of the Inspector General says TriWest has received those overpayments after billing the government at improper rates or collecting twice for the same treatment.
