Military Times – In case of a government shutdown, many VA programs are exempt or partly shielded from the impact: Disability pay, military pensions and GI Bill and survivors benefits would not be affected by a government shutdown, but veterans might see longer wait times for their disability claims. VA medical facilities would remain open.
