The Verge – Veterans and service members are experiencing lung problems from inhaling toxic smoke from burning military waste, according to an investigative report from the Verge. “We had one soldier after another — talented, capable athletes — who couldn’t pass their fitness tests anymore,” said Vanderbilt University pulmonologist Robert Miller, who has treated many service members affected by burn-pit smoke. Military policy discourages the use of burn pits.
