If you win, the fee is 25% of the back benefits, and nothing from the future benefits. There is a cap of $6,000 if the case is won after the first hearing. The Social Security Administration approves all fees and usually sends the fee directly to the lawyer. This does not include costs, but costs are usually minimal in Social Security cases.
